Synod 2017
At a special 10:30 a.m. Mass this morning, Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Holy Angels Cathedral in Gary, Bishop Donald J. Hying announced the beginning of a Synod process that will culminate with a Diocesan Synod on the weekend of Pentecost 2017. He also issued a Pastoral Letter to the faithful of the diocese, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations..." He has encouraged all the faithful to read his Pastoral Letter. Later this year, study sessions will take place to discuss his letter.

The Diocesan Synod took place the weekend of Pentecost, June 3rd and 4th, 2018. Bishop Hying wrote a Pastoral Response to the Synod. You are encouraged to read it and prayerfully consider the next steps for yourself, for the parish, and for the diocese.
